5/19/2023 0 Comments A scot in the dark![]() ![]() Lily has posed for a nude painting, thinking that the artist loved her and it would only be for his eyes. Maybe it’s because the previous book in this series is just so good, but this one isn’t in my top ten from MacLean.įirst of all, I do like the premise. It would be a perfect plan, if only Lily weren’t determined to marry for love…and if Warnick didn’t find her so appealing… Warnick has one goal: get the girl married. Warnick is a Scotsman with a hatred of all things English–and being shackled with a disgraceful ward along with the title is the last thing he wants. But when the artist destroys her reputation by making the painting public, Lily has no choice but to rely on the Duke of Warnick, the guardian she’s never met. When an artist offers Lily passion and pretty promises if she’ll pose for a scandalous portrait, Lily does. Stuck between classes, she’s never had the chance at true companionship or a Season to find love. ![]() Miss Lillian Hargrove has spent much of her life alone. I kind of feel ridiculous that I’m posting so many of these, but I feel almost as ridiculous about the fact that I read seven of these books in about a week, so…makes sense they’re all ready to go for reviews. It was an empirical fact, requiring absolutely no confirmation from experts on the subject. First Lines: Miss Lillian Hargrove was the most beautiful woman in England. ![]()
